Coming soon: Eight Helpful Digital Art Courses!

Ever since Russ Abbott and I had our Evolution collaborative seminar last fall, we've been talking about doing some in-depth digital art courses, and after much detailed discussion the idea for Wacom Weekend was born. This concentrated educational event will be held on May 1 and 2 at the Hell City Tattoo Fest at the Downtown Hyatt in Columbus, Ohio. Wacom Weekend is set up to allow both Russ and I to teach four courses apiece, each course focused on some essential skill in either Adobe Photoshop or Manga Studio. In addition, there will be a suite of Wacom Cintiq Companion tablets on hand allowing for hands-on experience with instructors present. Courses cover subjects ranging from fundamental Photoshop to more advanced tattoo-friendly design techniques. You can see the complete listing of seminars at the Tattoo Education online store.

This is a big step for Russ and I, who have both been encouraging tattooists to try out digital tools for years. Wacom Weekend is intended to help get past the intimidation of trying out these seemingly complex tools for the first time, and to show artists who are familiar with digital tools some useful methods to incorporate into their daily tattoo design and stenciling workflow. We are offering both single-day and weekend passes to help accommodate your convention schedule.

Thanks, and I hope to see you there!
